About The Morningside School
Sadie Bauer, Owner and Teacher
Sadie has been teaching and learning from young children for 19 years. Beginning at the Bank Street College of Education where she earned a Masters in Early Childhood Education with a duel degree Masters of Social Work, she then taught at both full day child care centers and small, private preschools. She has been the director of two preschools, including a parent cooperative school and one she co-founded.
Sadie is the mother of two boys and is an alumna of Carolina Friends School in Durham, NC. Both of which deeply influence her teaching.

Katie Kenlan, Teacher
Katie has been committed to working with children for over fifteen years. She grew up in the woods of Chatham County and has always felt at home outside and with children. She moved to Ohio for college, did internships in Boston and West Virginia then returned to North Carolina nine years ago.
For five years before coming to Morningside, Katie worked primarily with the five and under age group, both at First Environments Early Learning Center in RTP and in the Out Door Explorers program at Clapping Hands Farm, a one hundred acre off the grid outdoor education center near Pittsboro. She also worked in the After School Program at The Community Independent School where she became well versed in child mediation and child led curriculums. This is Katie's third year at MSS.
